News is, Our Exhibit has been Extended!

since the SM Group was so please with what we did in their warehouse slash parking lot, they had extended our exhibit until November 7, 2011! :) which is the first among all exhibits that had been held! we're all pleased with their decision (since that equates to no-egress during the holiday) also, we would be able to invite more people who weren't able to visit first time :)

anyway, here's a quick look of our exhibit's Before and After :)

please drop by soon!
before everything would be pulled out :)

A Demo on Venetian Plaster and Shimmerstone by Alfred Galvez

so i managed to squeeze in some time to post about the seminar i attended last weekend on Wall Finishes with non other than the paint-genius himself, Alfred Galvez :) who also happened to sponsor all our murals for our exhibit.

Alfred Galvez (and me on the background)

i really wanted to try this application, but i think i'm better stuck with rendering and markers :) it wasn't as easy as i thought :/
so this was what we've been trying to achieve (right).
and this was the application he did on our walls :)

Alfred demo-ing the rust-finish :)

there's sooo many techniques to know... and a day isn't enough (really) to learn everything!

if Alfred would offer a short course about painting and finishes soon, i would willingly cancel my schedule and enroll! LOL and i'm not exaggerating! :)

now, back to work! :)
 goodnight!

hiatus

i plan to have a blogging hiatus til end of october...

so i could de-clutter my workspace, make minor renovation on my office,
and focus on the things that need to be done asap!
oh i thought i'm going to have my vacation after the exhibit...
but its okay :)

savour the blessings!
and thank you Lord :)

furniture designs

i'm feeling inspired and crafty with all the ideas i'm getting right now :)
you see, i was only supposed to draft a floor plan in autocad and do a little research, but ended up clicking one link to another! mmm... now i want to design more furniture!

i had this idea for some time before, but had too much stuff in my hands :( now its going to be first on my list, and do it asap!
i like how its space saving and literal at the same time. must source!
i have different wood grains- in one furniture fetish for some time now :)
it's soo mid-century and classy!
after fabricating our onion chair, i'm kind of loving the use of bamboo/rattan in furniture. this one is really pretty. mixed media, how i love thee :)
this is super great and pretty! :)

Guangzhou Trade Fair & Manila Fame 2011

This weekend by far, has been one of  the busiest week i had this quarter... *sigh* and i'm still on a jet lag. But it has been pretty productive, educational, and fruitful at the same so i'm not complaining (much) lol. and I'll just make this quick post so i could sleep soon :)

Anyway, last week, after attending some meetings with clients and manning our exhibit, i flew to China to attend the Guangzhou, Canton Trade Fair 2011. I've heard a lot about this place since five years ago, but never had the opportunity to visit, so its also my first time in Guangzhou. and man... was my friends NOT kidding when they told me it's HUGE (see photos)
tired feet. three days of walking inside the complex, and i haven't really finished everything in 3 whole days!

I took this photo from one of the three major complex, can you guess how many people are there during the day?
and how many booths there are per complex?
i'm not sure if millions is an exaggeration, but if you ask me,  i think its close enough!
i have tons of pictures of products i saw that are sooo drool-worthy... but only picked a few in random to post (i need to catch my zzzz's!)
metallic mosaics *sigh*
lol. this is so funny :) golden toilets :)
3D wallpapers :) padded with cushion and wrapped in leather fabric.

wallpaper tiles and lighting fixtures
too bad though, if you like a particular style or item, you have to order based on their minimum quantity of order. some per container, 10,000pcs, hundreds of sqms, etc. :) but of course, that's what Import and Export is all about! *dreamy eyes* i want to go back to Guangzhou again, i just need to filter my ideas i guess :)

and then after arriving Manila, i went straight to Manila Fame 2011 at SMX (furniture, accessories, expo) like a zombie @.@ since today's also the last day of the fair. As always, Filipino designers never fail to inspire me :) Nobody's allowed to take photos of the products (unless you're buying it) so i'll just leave you with these two good looking mirrors from the fair, which i'm kind of thinking on buying for my project :)

and now... back to the grind!
*crossing my fingers tight*
goodnight!
