meanwhile...

Spending some of my free time drafting a nine year old's pink and purple bedroom for next year's renovation project.

Sometimes i love starting with the perspectives then skip the whole mood board thing. While mood boards are fun, i can get pretty lazy and spare details of the whole shell. So its either mood boards or perspectives for me *grins*.

This is Option 1. No built-in furniture, everything is movable. Baby girl selected the colors, while the girls in the family adores shabby chic, hence... :)

I'm still leaning to make an Option 2 with built-in cabinets to add more depth to the paneled walls. The only concern is, it wouldn't be as much flexible. Baby girl would have to wait a few years before we can re-layout it if ever she gets bored/ turns teen and suddenly adores Florence and the Machine over Katy Perry (just my cup of tea), but we'll see :)

By now I think you have noticed that I always have a lot of options with everything and never stick with the boards/ drawings :) I'm always in the work-in-progress, i guess nothing's definite until my guts says so :)

anyway, one project is near completion and i'm kind of playing with the visual merchandising...(excuse my lousy posture) during site visit :)
i'm so excited for all the furniture and lighting to come soon!

...to God be all the glory, thank you for all this wonderful experience :)

Projects: Residential. Walk-in Closet

ZOMG it only stuck to me last weekend that its the last month of 2012!!!

While this year has been pretty rocky & exciting, I can't feel but be relieved that it's almost over! So far, first year after officially graduating from design school has paved its rewards - and i'm really excited how the last few days will turn out, much so next year!

Also been thinking of leaving the whole blogosphere scenario and simplify my page with pictures and captions. But of course, one step at a time :)

Here's a walk-in closet for one of my clients. Right now, there's too many mirrors (as per request) but I hope to convince them to leave most closets open since its a separate room from the bed and bath, right?

Anyway, I hope I don't enjoy the holidays too much and finish all my perspectives before NY =)

Styling: Down the rabbit hole

Alice in Wonderland themed table setting for a photo shoot set up :)

Projects: Retail. Shoes.

This is for my client who wants a store that is timeless, classy, and girly all at the same time - for her brand Chesca, who has been distributing shoes for years, re-branding.
I decided to mute the color of the interior since i want the products to pop-out more and added a small dose of pinkness to balance the masculinity of the brick wall and exposed tubed chandeliers. The furniture and accessories are more dated/ classic since my client is not into exposed ceiling but she likes the feel of rustic finishes so i added that to some of the furniture.

We're hoping to open next week... This was the approved perspective, but so far some changes had already occurred - which is why i'm both nervous and excited! So 'til then, will keep you posted :)

Rustic Chic

The only reason I can post now is because I need to revise the whole plan of a current retail project - just found out today from the leasing department that the site we've been working on will be renovated on the third quarter of next year, so we're looking for other potential space, and my mind's shutting down for a moment. LOL. *trying hard not to panic*

Anyway, I have been blessed these past couple of months though I have undergone some major panic mode.... I still thank God for every learning experience :) I hope I can manage my time better in the future (though I still don't regret my spontaneous/ random travels once in a while), so I guess I just have to take Life as it is and Don't overwork too much. *reason to self much*

On another note, and as much as I don't want to post my projects' mood boards & perspectives once they're completely done... some sneak peaks like these and random (blog) posting helps me calm down & breathe for a while :)

This one is for a residential project.
I just love the feel of this room! I hope everything delivers soon :)

toodles!

Sweet Pink

Did you know?

Pink calms and reassures our emotional energies, alleviating feelings of anger, aggression, resentment, abandonment and neglect. Studies have confirmed that exposure to large amounts of pink can have a calming effect on the nerves and create physical weakness in people. Violent and aggressive prisoners have been successfully calmed by placing them in a pink room for a specified amount of time. Exposure for too long can have the opposite effect.

Yes, i just googled that to make a point. lol

My mind's a little cluttery right now... i know, i need to

R

and think PINK.

the result therefore in my new finished perspective is this:

*fingers crossed*

Photog's Booth turned Industrial

so last weekend my styling team and I designed, styled and fabricated a wedding photographer's booth (Kenneth Uy) for the Themes & Motifs Wedding Expo at SMX.

Our peg was this:

We wanted to create a Rugged Pop Art concept, since we're trying to veer away from Shabby Chic (which personally, would be soo much fun and easy to make!) since the photographer we're styling is a guy. The idea was crazy! Pop art printed Louis chair, ombre painted walls, bulb chandelier, and floor-lighted brick wall. BUT we also had to make revisions at the last minute since we're trying to make the cost as LOW as possible, and I started doubting whether the pop-art printed Louis chair would still match the corrugated, metal shell (which would be cheaper than the brick, ombre painted wall) and vintage chests I sourced from a friend.

So with limited time (and energy, I just came back from a long hiatus somewhere :) the output turned out to be...

THIS

which I'm still happy with and thinks the effort paid off :)

 and YES.

I'm overly obsessed with exposed bulbs, reclaimed wood, random frames, rustic finishes, letters, and wire meshes! and I would keep using them in my projects til I have exhausted them in any way that I imagined them to be! haha OA.

anyway, here's like the only photo I had with one of my team member and makeup artist friend Elaine Ching, with wedding photographer Kenneth Uy.

Real Living August 2012

One of the best surprises I got this month was seeing a photo of a set I styled together with the RL team for this month's Decor Ideas section - How to use Decals as Wall Accents - IN THE COVER. Honestly, I didn't expect it! :) so imagine how psyched I was when I realized the cover photo looked really really familiar - "hey, i think we shot this?! Did we?"

So anyway, I hope you guys get a copy of this issue (yeah, i'm always delayed in telling people that lol) but you could still buy it from Zinio app for the soft copy just in case :)

Candy Magazine Feature

i couldn't stop but giggle at the fact that I'm featured in Candy Magazine - feeling bagets lang! hihi cos I used to buy every copy of these way back high school and had only imagined myself in it! Thanks Ms. Chinggay Labrador for this and having one of my high school dreams come true! :)

Styling: Real Living Notebook June 2012

best in late post ever! and i have a number of reasons why i haven't posted about this sooner, since i also just happened to have a soft copy of this - today! haha.

anyway, as said over and over again, i can't stop but be thankful for having the opportunity to style for Real Living Magazine (again)! :) i mean really, having my name alone or a small hint of me published at any magazine was already a big deal, but being able to do something and seeing it in print is really - kakakilig! i know... mababaw lang :)

so here, i styled some organizing stuff (shelf, boxes, hangers) you could use at home with ms. Katherine Lopez :)

I just love every bit of details here! :) the contrast of classic white moulding against blackboard-painted wall plus metallic, chrome plated modern lighting with retro furniture and natural accessories spells - Lovely :) i'm so obsessed with chairs right now, when my friends ask me what i want for my birthday, i answer - can you guys just buy me those iconic reproduction chairs? Lol. But honestly, if i could collect all the pieces from every color of phantom, to ghost, to eames, to barcelone, to marie antoinette chairs... I'll be one happy crazy girl! :)

TORIBOX CAFE: SAN JUAN

hi! :) remember about this space i wrote about before? well thankfully, after going through a lot of mishaps - from working permits, to contractors, and un-forseen events - it's finally almost DONE! and expect it to be OPEN anytime soon! *psyched*

here's the lighting fixture (exposed bulbs)
that i had been obsessing about forever! lol

though most people think that designing spaces is a no-sweat job, REALITY proves otherwise. we were really disappointed with the contractor we hired for this project... but since i'm feeling optimistic right now, i guess i have to say - we have take it from experience! and i'm still thankful for the blessing of being able to finish it - not precisely what i imagined it to be 100% - but as our mentors had always taught & reminded us: we should learn to adapt with the circumstances & adjust our expectations, then i guess its okay.

and since i'm really awful with the updates & gathering photos... i'll just have to share with you photos i had from my instagram : @cpamz for now :)
the brick wall corner :) and bottom picture of me doing it.

and some teaser of the stairs and niche wall from the ground floor.

i don't know, but i'm still excited about everything! :)

TORIBOX has its first branch at: 2/F One Archer's Place, Taft Ave Ermita, Manila beside DLSU. Its best known for their really good Japanese Karaage pops! :)
