The Loft Effect

This project has been done for a while, but just had time to shoot it today and update my folio :)

Feature: Real Living May 2013

for Real Living Ph's May 2013 issue, i helped styled & contribute for the Decor Ideas section - Become a Mix Master. It's all about mixing store-bought pieces with thrift items, something that I loved doing for a while in my own space :) and thankfully, I was able to find furniture pieces that can match some items that i have been collecting for a while, and yes, its a breather to style something rustic & old for a change :)

 

 

 

(i didn't know we would be doing a 5-page feature and that i would be included in the set-up so sorry nalang for my #hulas outfit, hair and makeup! lol)

yeah, sometimes i get "that" excited right before i'm too exhausted and get ready for bed.

Wouldn't your heart skip a beat if you came across great hallways, high ceilings, western contemporary houses donned in colors, patterns, and textures? Well mine did after seeing these! :)

Not mellow in butter yellow. Loving the brightness and patterns from floorto chandelier.

OMG. Dream Loft!

i've always been a fan of Industrial interiors, but this loft is just BEYOND my dreams!!!

mixing glam and girly! this is totally what i call an eye candy!

Inspiration. Class & Comfort

before getting excited to design for a client, one must always consider the client's profile & personality. and sometimes, it can be really mind-boggling/confusing when they want us to handle everything, "you decide, we trust you", (which of course might be flattering, but with all the ideas one could think of, it could also result to roadkill!) so every time that happens, i always have the tendency to design the area like its "my own"... daydreaming, designing much, if i might say :) mixing personalities together :)

so today, remembering what someone has told me, "light, fun, and airy, something we could relax to" also considering their almost-senior year of age, i go back to neutral palettes... combining comfort and elegance, with a little touch of modern :)

Living Room Inspiration. Apartment.

i really love the use of space  in this room :)

the unconventional furniture at the corner, textured ottoman, pop of colors, not to mention, those three twig-like posts/sculpture/ or whatever you call it, and that side table on the left, somewhat brings balance to a modern space.

its very modern yet pretty casual.

i wish everyone have that much space to use for unconventional living room space...

white on white

while i'm obviously not a fan of WHITE rooms (which reminds me so much of hospitals and/or facility centers), I'm sill trying to convince myself that it would work - in different textures.

 going glam. again, acrylic & glass never fails.

 if i could collect all of Philip Starck's ghost chair in different colors... i would!

 i really like how white is always mixed with rustic wood. there's something beachy, and very relaxing to it :)

i'm so inlove with white subway tiles, i almost ordered online and have them shipped here. 

til i realized, i don't have to buy the original tiles abroad, and make up with something here. i know.

and more white rooms....

 and can i share, this commercial i'm currently loving? :) 

the production design is soo dreamy i wish i was a part of it!
