Progress Update

I like using this blog to update on the progress of my projects (also something to do while waiting for my 3D files to render). You see, some projects takes a long time to finish... so I take as much photos of the progress instead, to see how each is progressing.

Anyway, this particular one is for the bedroom renovations I've done in an old townhouse in New Manila. We only did the two bedrooms (and bath) since we had a very limited time to work with (during the kid's summer break). We are still not done with some furniture since my client wants to shop for themselves :)

SHARED BEDROOM

(for a seven and nine year old girls :)

 {BEFORE}

 The curtains there holds as a barrier for the air-conditioner since it is placed in front of the beds. We can't relocate it anymore since there is a builder's regulation, and we're not allowed to tear anything structurally that may affect the facade of the house. I've posted my perspective for this room here, and this is what's happening :)

Note that the beddings, actual curtains, and new furniture/ sofa bed hasn't arrived yet in this photo.

This was not in the perspective, but we added a divider wall on the left side of the room to limit once again, the air-conditioner blow. 

Finally installed the built-in study desk for two girls, which i'm really excited to style soon!

BATHROOM

 BEFORE & AFTER

We re-tiled everything from floor to ceiling, and since my client wants an almost all-white bathroom interior, I played with the ceiling, lighting and patterns of tiles instead :) 

 

SINGLE BEDROOM

(for a fourteen year old girl :)

This is the smaller of the two rooms, so we decided to make it into the achie's (or oldest's) bedroom. Its cute that all three girls almost have the same tastes in interiors, so when achie saw the alcove for the two girls, she also wants for herself :)

Note that the beddings, actual curtains, and new furniture/chair hasn't arrived yet in this photo.

I have to say, as much as I want to veer away from alcoves for now (since I've done it quite a few times in my perspectives already - will show in the future), its still one of my favorite elements! And some of my clients would still ask for the exact same thing in their home - so I just make sure to edit. 

 The wallpaper and custom-made shelf/desk are some of my favorites here :)

BATHROOM

I didn't took a before photo of the bathroom here since I know we will change everything from floor to ceiling (it pretty much looks like the same as the other two girl's bathroom).

Again, since they wanted their bathroom interior to be all-white, I just played around with the textures and ceiling :)

 

All bathrooms have their closets installed inside. Still waiting for the shower glass dividers to be installed, the mirror is temporary (re-used the old one) for now.

I'm just waiting for some of the furniture they made/ordered, so I'll show you again once its finally done :)

The aftermath, which still lacks minor details like visual merchandising, window display, brand logo at the back of the counter, graphic coated glass, and brand's new merchandise for the brand's rebranding.

Summer 2013

i haven't updated this blog for a while, probably cos i don't like talking much about a project i'm currently working with and sugarcoat the details (lol). and the same goes with doing 3d perspectives - i like freehand sketch or doodles better because making 3d's takes a lot of my time and limits my creativity -.-

anyway, it was a fun, busy summer and finally, FINALLY all plans has been approved, and these ones are ready to go! :)

my only goal is to make everything look better in actual, cos honestly, i'm not a fan of perspectives - it totally destroys the "surprise" factor (lol) #totallymeantit and yeah, aside from that, enjoy summer while working :) blessed and thank you Lord!

chic metal screens

i've been thinking of using metal screens as divider for some time now but i couldn't really convince myself that they'd look good until i stumbled upon this photo:

oak and cool grays are always a good combination. i really love the styling of this small study in a tiny apartment :)

Spending some of my free time drafting a nine year old's pink and purple bedroom for next year's renovation project.

Sometimes i love starting with the perspectives then skip the whole mood board thing. While mood boards are fun, i can get pretty lazy and spare details of the whole shell. So its either mood boards or perspectives for me *grins*.

This is Option 1. No built-in furniture, everything is movable. Baby girl selected the colors, while the girls in the family adores shabby chic, hence... :)

 

I'm still leaning to make an Option 2 with built-in cabinets to add more depth to the paneled walls. The only concern is, it wouldn't be as much flexible. Baby girl would have to wait a few years before we can re-layout it if ever she gets bored/ turns teen and suddenly adores Florence and the Machine over Katy Perry (just my cup of tea), but we'll see :)

By now I think you have noticed that I always have a lot of options with everything and never stick with the boards/ drawings :) I'm always in the work-in-progress, i guess nothing's definite until my guts says so :)

anyway, one project is near completion and i'm kind of playing with the visual merchandising...(excuse my lousy posture) during site visit :)

i'm so excited for all the furniture and lighting to come soon!

Projects: Retail. Shoes.

This is for my client who wants a store that is timeless, classy, and girly all at the same time - for her brand Chesca, who has been distributing shoes for years, re-branding.

I decided to mute the color of the interior since i want the products to pop-out more and added a small dose of pinkness to balance the masculinity of the brick wall and exposed tubed chandeliers. The furniture and accessories are more dated/ classic since my client is not into exposed ceiling but she likes the feel of rustic finishes so i added that to some of the furniture.

We're hoping to open next week... This was the approved perspective, but so far some changes had already occurred - which is why i'm both nervous and excited! So 'til then, will keep you posted :)

Sweet Pink

Did you know?

Pink calms and reassures our emotional energies, alleviating feelings of anger, aggression, resentment, abandonment and neglect. Studies have confirmed that exposure to large amounts of pink can have a calming effect on the nerves and create physical weakness in people. Violent and aggressive prisoners have been successfully calmed by placing them in a pink room for a specified amount of time. Exposure for too long can have the opposite effect.

Toribox Cafe

In a nutshell, here's some photos of one of my recent project - TORIBOX CAFE - which is located at 403 F. Calderon Cor. J Abad Santos San Juan City (beside Piandre).

hi! :) remember about this space i wrote about before? well thankfully, after going through a lot of mishaps - from working permits, to contractors, and un-forseen events - it's finally almost DONE! and expect it to be OPEN anytime soon! *psyched*

though most people think that designing spaces is a no-sweat job, REALITY proves otherwise. we were really disappointed with the contractor we hired for this project... but since i'm feeling optimistic right now, i guess i have to say - we have take it from experience! and i'm still thankful for the blessing of being able to finish it - not precisely what i imagined it to be 100% - but as our mentors had always taught & reminded us: we should learn to adapt with the circumstances & adjust our expectations, then i guess its okay.

and since i'm really awful with the updates & gathering photos... i'll just have to share with you photos i had from my instagram : @cpamz for now :)

While i had been obsessing on monotone, masculine, and industrial loft, i must say, this color palette looks amazing! :) wouldn't mind turning my office like this - the pop of colors are just oozing with "happiness" :)

Projects: SY: Masters Bedroom Teaser

I must admit, the only good thing about being sick (surprisingly, i thought being in Boracay and Coron in two succeeding weekends would help me relax - but i became ill otherwise) is that i'm forced to sit down on my desk and finish my perspectives.

Here's one bedroom teaser for you:

This is going to be the Masters Bedroom in one project i'm working with. I'm still working on the color palette... so far, I'm not close to finishing my presentation yet :( But wish me luck! I hope the vitamins i'm taking right now would kick in so as to keep me sane for the next couple of hours (haha).
